FILMS FOR CHILDREN OR FILMS MADE BY CHILDREN

The films eligible for the International Competition Section must be:

  • Fiction‐Live action (Feature length)
  • Fiction‐Live action (Short)
  • Animation (Feature length)
  • Animation (Short).

Films with duration of 60 minutes or more will be considered Features and films with duration from 10 to 59 minutes will be considered Shorts.

The films must have been produced after January 2015.

The films eligible for the Asian Competition Section must be:

  • Fiction‐Live action (Feature length)
  • Fiction‐Live action (Short)
  • Animation (Feature Length)
  • Animation (Short)

considered Shorts.

All films must have been produced in Asia. The films must have been produced after January 2015. All the films must be censored by CBFC.

Competition Little Directors is open to schools, children’s clubs, NGOs, etc. The same guidelines apply to group submissions whereby a teacher/ supervisor/mentor/ trainer acting as the Legal Guardian of the group, must sign the terms and conditions on behalf of the group.

Films must be made by individual children/groups of children aged 6 to 16. The core team (Director, Cameraperson, editor, etc.) should be below the age of 16.

The aim of this section is to encourage children & young people in India to experiment with the moving image, and stimulate pursuit of film‐making both as an art as well as a creative expression of their point of view.

  • Only Fiction films (both Live Action and Animation) are eligible.
  • The films must have been produced in 2015/2016/ 2017.
  • Only films that have been cleared of rights (including musical rights) will be accepted.
  • Films must be entered by nominated parent (for individual entries) or teacher/supervisor/trainer/ mentor (for group entries), on behalf of the school.

Films must be submitted in their original language. Films in language other than English, should be subtitled in English.

Films should not submitted in previous edition of ICFFI
