All domestically or internationally produced short films, shall be considered for competition filmed in 35 mm or 16 mm, or in High Definition Video. The films should not last longer than 30 minutes (credits included).

The films must be presented in their original language. If the language is not Spanish, it must have Spanish subtitles or the original script and a translation to Spanish or English must be included.

The production date must be after January 1, 2021.

Due to the current situation caused by COVID-19, should the organization deem it convenient and following the instructions of the health authorities, all the works selected in the 'Almería en Corto' International Short Film Contest may be exhibited on platforms with streaming display capacity (continuous video playback service, without downloading, via web pages), so that the works can be viewed anywhere with an internet connection. The works may be accessed on several platforms simultaneously and only for the duration the Almería International Film Festival, between November 19th and 27th 2021.
