HollyShorts Film Festival (HSFF) is an annual short film festival showcasing the best and brightest short films from around the globe. The festival showcases the top short films produced 40 minutes or less.

Films and videos submitted to the Festival will be considered for competitive categories. Oscar nominated films may be submitted for screening but not in the competitive categories. By submitting your film for consideration for the 14th Annual HollyShorts Film Festival, you agree for HollyShorts to screen your short film if it is an official selection for this year's festival and are obligated to your commitment.

All Foreign Language films MUST have ENGLISH subtitles.

Films produced after 2016 onwards.

ACADEMY AWARDS® QUALIFYING FILM FESTIVAL

Recipients of the HollyShorts Film Festival Best Short Film Grand Prize will be eligible for consideration in the Live Action Short Film category of the Academy Awards® without the standard theatrical run, provided the film otherwise complies with the Academy Rules.

CATEGORÍAS:

  • Short animation: up to 40 minutes.
  • Short live action: Short Live Action films 40 minutes or less. Category includes Drama, Narrative, Action, Horror, Thriller, Comedy, and Cinematography.
  • Student: Student films from verified film school.
  • Digital Microbudget: Films made on tablets, iphones, Microsoft Windows phones, Androids, gopro, etc. Budget at or under $500. 10 minutes or less.
  • Television: 3D short films 30 minutes or less. Films submitting for this category must be exhibited in 3D.
  • Commercial: Commercial submissions 3 minutes or less. Best Commercial winner receives $5,000 in post production services from Company 3. Online Spec submissions as well as national campaign spots are eligible to compete.
  • Music Video: Music Video submissions 7 minutes or less. Best Music Video winner receives $5,000 in post production services from Company 3.
  • Web series: Web Series submissions up to 20 minutes per submission of episodes
  • Short documentary: Short Documentary films 40 minutes or less.
