Elegibility:
- Contemporary films from Latin America (North, Central, South America, and the Caribbean) and the Iberian Peninsula are eligible to participate.
- Contemporary films made by or about Latinos in the U.S. or the rest of the world are eligible to participate.
- Contemporary films made by or about indigenous groups of the Americas are eligible to participate.
Projects must have been completed after January 1, 2018.
For all works where the spoken language is not English, English subtitles and/or narration are required.
Feature length (50 minutes or more) and short films (49 minutes or less) of all genres will be considered including dramatic, documentary, experimental, animation and music video.
NALIP is the National Association of Latino Independent Producers; it does include some international filmmakers too not just US.
As a celebration of young filmmakers, Cine Las Americas presents “Emergencia,” a special competitive section open to youth filmmakers ages 19 and under.
