IN THE PALACE International Short Film Festival is dedicated to short films, new media and digital arts. Originating as a competitive forum for student films, it has grown to be a recognized platform for the expression of both young artists and established professionals. Set in a pleasant seaside city location, it encompasses a range of film competitions, specially curated film programs, music parties and concerts, exhibitions, industry events, an educational program, and a film project pitching session.

IN THE PALACE is an EFFE Label holder. Since 2017 it has been an Academy Awards/Oscar® qualifying festival in the categories of Best Animation, Best Fiction and Best National Film and also a Student Academy Awards® qualifying festival.

Premiere in Bulgaria required.

Eligible films must be maximum 27 minutes in length

Films completed after 1 January 2018.

English subtitles are mandatory for all the movies, also for the ones with English dialogues. The subitles must be burned in movie.

Eligible are only films that have been completed during the study years of their directors.
