Different categories are established depending on the educational or professional section:
PROFESSIONAL SECTION:
Fiction or animation short films, national and international, made after 1 January 2023, are eligible to participate. The subject matter is free. The duration shall not exceed 20 minutes and subtitles in English and/or Spanish are recommended.
Youth Prize (under 30 years old): Special prize awarded within the national category to the best short film directed by a filmmaker under 30 years old on the date of entry.
Best Animated Short Film: Open to animated works made image by image, with a minimum of 75% animated length.
EDUCATIONAL SECTION:
Children's Category (C1): Aimed at short films made by children up to the age of 12.
Junior Category (C2): For short films made by young people between 13 and 18 years old.
They must have a maximum duration of 12 minutes (exceptionally, works with a longer duration will be accepted). They must be unpublished in this festival and original.
In those stories that have not been filmed in Spanish (all languages are accepted), English subtitles are recommended, although subtitles in Spanish will be considered.
